The Borough of Delmont is located in Westmoreland CountyPennsylvania, approximately twenty-five miles east of the city of Pittsburgh.  Situated at the crossroads of busy U.S. Route 22 and State Route 66, this historic community of around 2,500 residents holds a prominent place in local history.

Incorporated in 1833, Delmont is home to numerous historic homes and buildings, many of which are located within the Salem Crossroads Historic District.  The district features several log houses, Greek Revival style buildings, and Gothic Revival style church, as well as the Central Hotel, a popular overnight stopover for 19th century stagecoach passengers, and the city’s historic watering trough, a spring-fed trough frequented by stagecoach drivers throughout the 1800s that was popular with weekend motorists during the 1960s as a local carwash.

The borough hosts the annual Apple 'N Arts Festival the first weekend of each October.  Held at Shields Farms, the festival features more than 100 arts and crafts vendors from around the state, as well as local food vendors and an old-fashioned hayride.  The farm also hosts the annual “Christmas in Salem Crossroads” festival held each December and the Delmont Area Athletic Association, home of area recreational baseball, softball, and golf.

For recreation and entertainment, residents and visitors alike can choose from a variety of local venues that include Newhouse Park, the Cloverleaf Golf ClubApple Hill Playhouse, and Center Ice Arena, a recreational ice skating facility featuring three NHL-size ice rinks that is home to the Allegheny Badgers and host to numerous local high school and college hockey events.
